The National Business & Disability Council at The Viscardi Center (NBDC) will host a Think Tank session to assist its member companies in understanding issues concerning disability in the workforce and legislation regarding accommodations and new hiring regulations. The next session, Top Ten Accomodations (including details from JAN’s Low Cost, High Impact study), is scheduled for June 24, 2014. It is designed to give business leaders an opportunity to speak openly and honestly with their peers on important topics.
“The purpose of our Think Tanks is to have the business community come together and have an open dialogue. It provides employers a forum to share experiences and concerns pertaining to people with disabilities in the workforce,” said Laura M. Francis, Executive Director, National Business & Disability Council at The Viscardi Center. “Workplace accommodations continue to be an important topic, so we’re pleased that our partners at the Job Accommodation Network will facilitate this important dialogue.”
The June24th Think Tank will take place via a conference call for one-hour starting at 10:00am, beginning with a brief presentation from a national guest speaker. The speaker will then facilitate the brainstorming session among the members.
Additional sessions scheduled for this year include:
• September 16, 2014 – Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Regs / Section 503 related
• December 16, 2014 – TBD
The Think Tank sessions are a membership benefit and are open, at no charge, to all NBDC members. For more information or to register, contact Brandon Macsata at bmascata@viscardicenter.org or visit nbdc.com.
