An undergraduate studying Business Administration jump starts her career path with an invaluable summer internship at a Fortune 1000 company.
“This was my first experience in the corporate world. It was invaluable insight into possibilities for my future.”
Kylie, an undergraduate student at Emory University studying Business Administration, found her internship at New York Life Insurance Company invaluable. This opportunity was made possible by the Emerging Leaders Summer Internship Program for College Students with Disabilities offered by the National Business & Disability Council at The Viscardi Center.
During her internship, she conducted research, attended staff meetings and created an Intern Career Day for nearly 100 interns that addressed networking, interview preparation techniques and included a career fair. She also had an opportunity to enhance the company’s Diversity & Inclusion Initiative and work with the ENABLE_Employee Resource Group to clarify its vision and mission and create action plans for Disability Heritage Month events.
“I became much more confident in my abilities and my potential to succeed in the business world while staying true to my values,” she noted. Kylie is finishing her senior year and hopes to be employed quickly following her graduation from Emory.
Following her graduation from Emory University, Kylie was offered a position at New York Life Insurance Company. She is currently employed as a Human Resources Associate.
