The Viscardi Center’s new Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program for students, ages 14 – 21, with varying disabilities
EXPLORE at The Viscardi Center is a Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program for students, ages 14 – 21, with varying levels of ability, intended to provide an early start to career exploration and work-readiness competencies with the goal of preparing students for gainful employment and independence following graduation from high school. Through job discovery activities, self-advocacy, workplace readiness training, and individualized, paid work-based learning experiences, EXPLORE offers participants opportunities to discover their interests and talents, and learn how to apply them in a modern work environment.
EXPLORE’s curriculum was designed by a team of vocational rehabilitation professionals and special educators to help students:
- Discover interests and aptitudes
- Evaluate strengths and weaknesses
- Understand options for continued education and vocational training
- Learn how to self-advocate
- Experience a variety of job roles
