NBDC's Virtual Disability Inclusion Summit Moving from Awareness to Action

The National Business and Disability Council (NBDC) at The Viscardi Center, in partnership with international professional services firm Jacobs, is pleased to announce a Virtual Disability Inclusion Summit: Moving from Awareness to Action in celebration of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). The event will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM EST. The event will consist of a series of informative sessions designed to help companies have a better understanding of how to recruit people with disabilities, recognize the benefits derived from disability inclusion, and provide organizations with useful tactics to build a disability inclusive culture.

During the Disability Inclusion Summit, participants will learn practical skills for implementing disability inclusion within organizations of all sizes. Experts and thought leaders will offer insights on:

– Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
– The Intersection of Race & Disability
– Mentorship
– Mental Health + Wellness
– Virtual Recruiting
– The ADA + COVID
– An Action Plan to Get Started

“During this time of uncertainty, it is crucial that companies be strategic and deliberate about stimulating diversity and inclusion,” said John D. Kemp, President & CEO, of The Viscardi Center. “In honor of NDEAM, we recognize the importance of having an event where organizations understand the significance of employing people with disabilities while also addressing today’s most contemporary issues that impact the workplace.”

For over twenty years the National Business and Disability Council has been working with and helping hundreds of corporations, academic institutions, and federal and state government agencies in providing exceptional services, resources, and insights to its members to increase their disability inclusion and employment efforts.
