Seven high school students were inducted into the Viscardi National Honor Society Chapter for demonstrating excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character throughout the school year. Led by Chapter Advisor and guidance counselor Monica Snyder, the traditional induction ceremony is the first of its kind at the Henry Viscardi School (HVS), which started the chapter this year.
According to Snyder, she and the Faculty Council recognized outstanding sophomores, juniors, and seniors whose accomplishments exceeded high grades. Inductees were selected based on academic achievements, peer leadership qualities, and involvement in extracurricular activities on campus.
“We started this chapter because we knew our students met the national criteria,” Snyder said. “Going forward, membership in the National Honor Society could help lead to acceptance into prestigious colleges.”
In closing, Assistant Principal Angelo Zegarelli congratulated students, noting that all will be expected to strengthen their talents in high school careers and beyond. “You are all role models, and we know that you’ll continue to make your parents and everyone at the Henry Viscardi School proud,” he said.
