The Viscardi Alumni Mission
An organization dedicated to encouraging, inspiring and bringing together all Viscardi school and program alumni, staff, students, and the community in an effort to continue Dr. Henry Viscardi, Jr.’s vision. “For everyone to take calculated risks; to dream and to build; to fail and to succeed.” As a community of disabled individuals… we should all embrace our own unique abilities.
Did you attend or graduate from the Henry Viscardi School? Have you participated in one of The Viscardi Center’s youth transition, PROSPER, or employment training/placement programs? Then, consider joining the Viscardi Alumni group.
The Viscardi Alumni group is open to individuals who have attended/graduated from, or worked for, any of The Viscardi Center’s organizations or programs—including Henry Viscardi School and Abilities, Inc. There is no fee to join. Our goal is to give individuals associated with The Viscardi Center an opportunity to reconnect and network with each other and the community. It also gives us the chance to advocate for, and share information about, public policy, employment, health care and other important issues people with disabilities face every day.
A forum for individuals to share their success stories, members of the Viscardi Alumni encourage and inspire others. We offer opportunities to attend and volunteer at events hosted by The Viscardi Center, as well as hold a variety of social gatherings and informational sessions throughout the year.
The Viscardi Alumni are also an organized voice for all people with disabilities on a local, regional and national level. Our founding father, Dr. Henry Viscardi, Jr. served as a disability advisor to eight U.S. presidents and became one of the world’s leading advocates. Let’s continue advocating for one another, as he did for us.
