In its 49th year, Celebrity Sports Night is one of the premier fundraising events on Long Island and raises funds to enrich the lives of children and adults with disabilities. While the evening may seem typical, it’s one-of-a-kind. During the cocktail reception, guests are provided with an opportunity to collect autographs and speak with dozens of athletes and celebrities in attendance. Guests can also strike a pose with the athletes and celebrities, even take a few selfies!

Celebrity Sports Night, presented by DiversityInc and chaired by John A. Danzi, Principal, Long Island Hotels, will recognize:

• Luke Visconti, CEO and Founder of DiversityInc - Honoree
• Robin Hayes, President & CEO, JetBlue Airways - Corporate Excellence in Disability Best Practices
• Clark Gillies, NHL Hall of Famer and former New York Islander - Sportsman of the Year
• Victor Calise, Commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities - Roy Campanella

Back by popular demand, this year’s athlete line-up includes:
• Joe Namath – Former NY Jet and NFL Hall of Famer
• Dwight “Doc” Gooden – 3-time World Series Champion
• Mookie Wilson, Sean Landeta, John Dockery, Rod Gilbert, John Schmitt and more

Take a “sneak peek” at Sports Night.

Athlete and celebrity participants have also included: Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, Joe Theismann, Bud Harrelson,  Bobby Nystrom, Johnny Weir, Tai Babilonia, Randy Gardner, Jim Brown, Joe Frazier, Keith Hernandez, Boomer Esiason, Willie Mays, Walt Frazier, Lou Pinella, Stephen Baker, Karl Nelson, Darryl Strawberry,  J.R. Martinez, the season 13 Dancing with the Stars Champion, and Steve Schirripa, known for his role as “Bobby Bacala” on The Sopranos, and many other sports legends and celebrities.

A silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, show tickets and more takes place during the cocktail reception. A formal sit-down dinner is followed by a live auction with several “priceless” experiences. One of the evening’s highlights is an original performance, produced by Olympic Figure Skating Champion JoJo Starbuck, featuring students of the Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center with appearances by some of the attending athletes and celebrities.
